Why You Should Not Naïvely Quit Your Job (And What To Do Instead)

If you still cannot make your current job as fun and exciting as possible, do not prematurely run from it.
You have probably heard the following: “Take the leap!”, “Follow your passion!” “Believe in yourself” “Begin your life!”. However, unless you are incredibly good and recognized, the market does not care about your magnified self-belief and audacity. If you think that everyone will suddenly applaud and shower you with money, you are in for a rude awakening.
Modern career advice tells a different story. You have to become useful, generous, patient, and most of all, so good people cannot ignore you. If you want such a rare and valuable career as having your dream job, you have to become rare and valuable in terms of skillset. Solely obsess over what you can contribute to the market, and you will get there.
However, the path takes a lot of time, deliberate practice, and humility. You have to earn attention and trust from the people you seek to serve, as well as delight them with extraordinary value.
