Why Productivity And Life Enjoyment Do NOT Oppose Each Other (Solving The Fundamental Misconception Of Productivity)
Everyone telling you being productive is opposed to enjoying life is wrong
It is the fundamental misconception of productivity, stemming back to the 1800s, to conflate it with busyness, or maximum output regardless of input. In reality, the definition of productivity means the ratio between output and input:
Output/Input = Productivity
To be more productive, we can either increase output (numerator) without changing the input. Or we can let the output stay the same while decreasing the input (denominator). Or we can do both. In any case, the productivity quota increases.
To be hyperproductive, we want maximum output WITH minimum input. Or as I define hyperproductivity:
Minimum doing * Minimum thinking * Maximum Leverage
Or in a more mathematically rigorous way:
Hyperproductivity = Base Output * (Leverage/(Doing Thinking))
