The Step-By-Step Process I Use To Write An Atomic Essay Every Day
2 min readAug 15, 2022
The following is my current process (as of August 2022).
The night before
- I spend 5 minutes brainstorming and outlining subideas for tomorrow’s essay. No strain, just an open task on Google Tasks and let all the associations flow out. Starting with the title and then working down the structure.
- After the evening routine, I sleep (non-negotiable).
The next morning
- I write in the kitchen while making breakfast (cooking oatmeal and milk) using WordPress Editor. Since I primarily write for my website thetotalliving.com, this is my preferred way.
The writing process goes very fast (5–10 minutes) because of my preparations before. If I get stuck, I just sit there, enjoying the moment and the binaural beats. The more I am relaxed, the better my creativity can flow.
- After I’ve written the essay, I select a good stock picture and incorporate it in WordPress, together with the matching categories.
- Then I open Typeshare, a social blog where you can quickly publish to Twitter, Medium, and LinkedIn. I copy the entire essay to there and adjust it for each platform (Tweet, Medium picture, LinkedIn paragraphs, etc).
- Then I publish on Typeshare and WordPress.
- Then I paste the original article below the tweet and LinkedIn post. I select the right topics for Medium, meter the essay, and email subscribers.
Then I close my computer and walk out of my apartment.
- While walking, I copy the Twitter image and description to Instagram and TikTok.
Total Duration: 20–30 minutes
