One of the obstacles that all creators, but especially new creators face, is perfectionism. You know that feeling that what you do has to be flawless or otherwise everyone will laugh behind your back. It often leads to not creating at all, or at least procrastinating a lot.

As I’ve written 3 books in 3 months and 337 articles in one year, I wanted to share with you how I managed to overcome my perfectionism and hopefully help you as well if you’re in that same boat

What is perfectionism

I like to spend a lot of time understanding the definitions of problems I face because then I can be able to solve them for good. And according to Google, perfectionism is a refusal to accept any standard short of perfection.

So in other words, you are resisting, and not accepting, any standard aside from an imaginary ideal. Although it might sound noble on paper, you know, keeping a high level of excellence, it’s actually not ideal at all.

What do I mean by that?

First, what is perfection really? How often have you looked back to what your 5-year-old younger self did and felt ashamed, despite he or she thought it was flawless at that time? I certainly had.
