  • Anticipate the next thought. Normally, thoughts are just running around in your head like a crowd. However, as soon as you intently wait for the next thought to occur, the chatter finally stops. You can achieve the same effect by simply enjoying the chatter
  • Accept and enjoy the situation as if it is perfect. Resistance to the present moment occurs because you believe you are not perfect. However, there is no other time but now, thus it is perfect.
  • Look, hear and feel intently. The more attention on the outside, the less on the inside. Try to see/hear what various patterns are lurking where you are. Feel the aliveness of your inner body.
  • Interpret pain as pleasure. According to the best-seller Indistractable, we distract ourselves because of neglected pain. Fortunately, most of it is psychological, arising from non-acceptance. By viewing intense pain as intense pleasure, you will seek it and thus allow the body to heal.
  • Write down the thought if insisting for more than 3 minutes. Your thought become externalized to a trusted system and you can safely forget it. More info on how you do it here.
