How I Stopped Overthinking
Overthinking is something I’ve struggled with my whole life.
From analyzing and interpreting every situation to constantly thinking about the past and future. Especially when making hard decisions, the inner commentator would not shut up a single second.
Fortunately, I managed to find the root cause of the problem and stop it. Now there is silence inside. No endless talking, just a peaceful atmosphere.
I started paying full attention to the physical feeling behind the thoughts.
There was a correlation between what I was thinking and the physical sensations in my body.
Whenever I got lost in thought, there was a strain in my temples. Whenever anxiety crept in, I felt a heaviness in my arms, feet, and lower back. Whenever I lacked confidence, there was a sinking feeling in my stomach.
So I paid full attention to what I felt at the time. No explanation, just pure feeling.
It felt like waking up from a nightmare. Everything became still and peaceful.
Now, whenever I face a challenging situation or decision, I stop thinking altogether and focus exclusively on what I feel inside. Every time I do so, the right action comes automatically.
