The Truth About Elon Musk
Hero or Secret Villain?

In December 2021, Elon Musk was at the top of his career. Being the richest person in the world worth $300 Billion, leading several companies in the cutting edge and awarded Time’s Person of the year.
But after that year… it all crashed down. Elon acquired Twitter for $44 billion and fired 80% of its workforce, while drastically upending the company. As a result, Tesla and Twitter (now called X) have seen their reputations falling together with his own. In addition, while Elon believes in free speech, he has made some very questionable things on his platform, including banning journalists and indirectly forcing one of his former Twitter employees to hide for his life.
So what’s going on here? Is Elon our only hope for getting to Mars and a sustainable future? Or is he actually a threat to all of us?
To answer this, we need to look at his full story:
Chapter 1: Traumatic Childhood (1971–1988)
On June 28, 1971, Elon Musk was born in Pretoria South Africa, and lived in Johannesburg. His father was a rich engineer with lots of emeralds and his mother was a supermodel.
Given these parents, Elon should have had a good childhood right? But that wasn’t the case at all. His father regularly abused his mother while their children were crying in the background.
When Elon was 8 years old, his mother and sister Tosca fled to Durban. But for some reason, Elon thought his father needed emotional support because he was divorced. Elon and his younger brother Kimbal could stay with their father instead.
But that was a decision he came to regret. Although his father could be funny sometimes and show the boys around in his cars, he most often abused them emotionally (but not physically).
Unfortunately for Elon, school was also not a fun place.
You see, Elon was quite special as a kid. Already when he was 3, he could have conversations with adults and seemed very intelligent. Sometimes he would be so focused in his inner fantasy world that he could not see or hear anything outside. You could jump in front of him or scream at him and he would not even notice.
